About Us
The Hull & East Yorkshire Volleyball Association prides itself on proactively promoting the sport of volleyball in the former Humberside Region and beyond. HEYVA pledges to maximise the opportunity to play volleyball in our region for demographics of people and ensure fair and fun competition.
Each year teams compete in the HEYVA league (Mixed Sex League) which is aimed at grass roots volleyball and is an excellent level for beginners and more experienced players to compete in a fun and safe enviroment. This is backed up by our cup and shield competitions which are frown open to teams outside our league structure also..
HEYVA is currently the sole survivor of the Yorkshire local regional associations and this is something we are extremely proud of, since 2019 after a dramitic decline in the participation levels in our region we decisded to make some major changes to the way the league is structured in order to not only sustain the levels of particiapation at the time but actively increase the number of players competing.
The league now operates a triagular fixture format, with a centralised fixture and venuw system meaning it has opened up the league to teams and clubs without permanent venues and equipment and clubs that are outside of our tradtional boubaries. This has proven popular of the league is now flourishing with hopes to expand back to a 2 division league in the coming seasons.
